I just had to share this stunning photo that my friend Allison Murray took last weekend in Beaver Creek. Fall meets Winter in Colorado! I'm going to try and catch some of the colors this weekend, so feel free to pass on some suggestions for eye-catching places to go.
You could still get tickets for the Great American Beer Festival! Listen at 2 and 5 today, and again tomorrow at 7, 9, 2 and 5. How about a little Weird Al to get you pumped up for the Fest. True confession: I used to play this song on the accordion when I was around 12. Yep, polkas were my jam. Doesn't Al look like the love child of Tiny Tim and Carrie (as in Stephen King) in this video?
I am giving away tickets for Bonnie Raitt's concert at the Bellco Theatre (Oct. 17) today at 3:00 on My Three Songs. Be the first to solve the musical puzzle and I will personally introduce you to Bonnie backstage. Believe me, it will be a special mment you'll cherish the rest of your life!
Did you figure out My Three Songs today? I was sure I would get an answer right away but we had a bit of a stumper. Congrats to Tyler of Greeley. The songs:
Sheryl Crow/Everyday is a Winding Road
Gregg Allman/I'm No Angel
Melissa Etheridge/Bring Me Some Water
Answer: All are cancer survivors! The Race for the Cure is coming up this Sunday at the Pepsi Center.
Todd Helton will play his final home game tonight at Coors Field after 17 incredible years with the Colorado Rockies. I will miss the home runs and the doubles, and those incredible stretches at first place to make an out. During this era of endless salary negotiations and trade demands, Todd Helton has been a class act spending his entire major league career wearing the purple and black for the Rockies. I love this interview with Helton in 2007 after the team advanced to the playoffs, the first time for him.
