My friends and I found a great way to beat the heat yesterday.
Please tune in at 1:00 today for Big Head Todd and the Monsters in KBCO Studio C! They are going to play an old favorite and at least one brand new song.
Big Head Todd & the Monsters! BHTM first played KBCO Studio C in 1992 and they have returned just about every year since. Two days before their concert at Red Rocks, Big Head Todd & the Monsters will play KBCO Studio C Friday (6/7) around 1:00. Since they are celebrating the 20th anniversary of SISTER SWEETLY, I'll be sure to ask them about the making of that album and maybe make a request or two.
Would you like to see Widespread Panic at Red Rocks and in Las Vegas? Be the 9th caller when I play a Panic song between 1 and 2pm through this Friday, and I will give you a pair of tickets for one of the soldout shows at Red Rocks. You also would qualify for a chance to see them at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Now that's what I call a jackpot!
Yesterday I was introduced for the first time to the music of a very talented 18 year old from Minnesota named Zach Sobiech. Yesterday Zach died of bone cancer. A KBCO listener named Jenni shared Zach's very inspirational story with me and I wanted to return the favor and share it with you as well. In the aftermath of yesterday's Oklahoma tragedy and Zach's own passing, perhaps we can find some comfort in the "Clouds."
