Have you seen the J'Adore by Dior commercial with Charlize Theron? I don't usually like it when famous celebrities are exhumed to sell a product, but I like this ad with the images of Charlize interacting with Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. Best part might be the music. At first I thought it was Dolly Parton but the group is Gossip and the song released in 2009 is "Heavy Cross." Here's the whole song.
Call me sentimental, but this is my favorite Thanksgiving scene in a movie.
I was in kindergarten when President Kennedy was killed and I don't have any memories of November 22, 1963. I remember the next year, however, looking over and over at a photograph book that my grandma had called "The Torch Has Passed." Being a child myself, it was the picture of John John saluting his dad's coffin at the funeral that forever stayed with me. Less than five years later I became interested in politics for the first time when I got to see Robert Kennedy campaign for the presidency in my little town of Crete, Nebraska. I was hit hard by the Kennedy charm and so excited about our future. And then it happened. Again.
All of these years later, I still have a tough time watching footage of that fateful day in Dallas. I prefer to savor the final image of JFK in this video to Shona Laing's "Glad I'm Not a Kennedy" and wonder about what might have been.
Another strange dream last night and it wasn't even fueled by alcohol, spicy food, or something I watched on TV. In my dream, I adopted a baby and I was so disappointed when everyone around me told me I was crazy for doing so. This is what my baby looked like:
