| Here's an email I just received from our friend Joanne Davidson over at The Denver Post: The life of one of Denver’s most beloved citizens, Noel Cunningham, will be celebrated Thursday, February 2nd at Strings of Hope, a multifaceted fundraiser that starts with a celebration of Noel's life (emceed by Gov. John Hickenlooper) in the Buell Theatre and concludes with a reception in the Seawell Ballroom. Noel, the much-beloved owner of Strings restaurant, was 62 when he took his own life in early December 2011. Strings of Hope will be a benefit for the Cunningham Foundation and its work on behalf of those living in extreme poverty in Ethiopia. The Buell Theatre event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program starts at 5:30. The Silhouettes, a 42-member dance troupe that made it to the finals of “America’s Got Talent,” will perform. Immediately after, a $150-per-ticket reception will be held in Seawell Ballroom. This gathering has an attendance cap of 500 and will feature food from Tyler Wiard of Elway’s Cherry Creek; Jennifer Jasinski of Rioja; Jamey Fader of Lola; Brandon Foster of Vesta Dipping Grill; Sheila Lucero of Jax Fish House; Paul Reilly of Encore; Alex Seidel of Fruition; Matt Selby of Vesta Dipping Grill and Steuben’s; Elise Wiggins of Panzano; Mark DeNittis of Il Mondo Vecchio; Goose Sorensen of Solera; Sean Yontz of Sketch and El Diablo; and Keegan Gerhard of DBar Desserts. Tickets are available on the Cunningham Foundation website only. |
