THE DENVER RESCUE MISSION UPDATE

The freezers at Denver Rescue Mission remain unfilled. As of this afternoon 2,150 turkeys have been donated. Several individuals and local businesses have stepped up to donate frozen birds or money for the birds. Still, more turkeys are needed for Thanksgiving. The purpose of the annual turkey drive is to feed thousands of homeless and hungry people in Metro Denver for Thanksgiving. The Mission serves as the turkey distributor to 100 different schools, churches and non-profits that have requested more than 18,000 birds.

The turkeys will be served at the Great Thanksgiving Banquet on Wednesday, November 21st, given to families in 1,250 holiday food boxes - The Denver Rescue Mission will provide about 136,000 meals during the holiday season.
