Just a few hours after the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee announced
Green Sunday at Red Rocks with Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, we got the very sad news that
LeRoi Moore, saxaphonist for the
Dave Matthews Band, passed away. Given the news, and since this concert isn't open to the public, I'm sure Dave will cancel his performance. Tickets to this concert won't be available to the public, so now is the time to find a friend with media credentials and get on their good side. This will be the first event in the media circus that will be the Democratic National Convention. Check out some of the other activities

Coldplay has just put a new song up on their website as a free download. "Death Will Never Conquer" is not on the new CD, but they have hinted it might be part of their live shows. It's less than 90 seconds, so it's almost like a commercial, but one of my favorite Coldplay songs a few years ago, "One I Love," was a song they only did live. You can download the song

Last night, as I was eagerly anticipating Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's (which is today, April 29th), I stumbled upon this article in the Daily Camera about a local coffee shop getting hit with a use tax for giving away coffee. The city of Boulder charges local businesses a use tax when they give away products. Does that mean that the Ben & Jerry's on the Pearl Street mall will get hit with a tax bill for all the ice cream they give away today? Given the contradiction of this law: buy one get one free deals are exempt, but punch cards and free products are taxed. Will local businesses in Boulder have their own Tea Party and start a revolution?
